Yale?

dearlydemented:

So for our Surface Research class we were asked to research a large list of artists. After finishing up over fourteen pages of notes I discovered something interesting. All but just a few currently lived and worked in New York City, and over half of the selected artists achieved their MFA from Yale. I went onto the Yale sight to find out more and it turns out that, for just the sculpture department, only ten students are accepted, per year, into the Yale Professional Art School and Masters program. That’s incredible difficult! I can see how the top conceptual artists got in, one can only hope to achieve what they did. On the Rams note, one of the artists got their MFA from VCU whoop!
Yale is a good school. Several of the VCU arts faculty went there (including the heads of AFO and Sculpture). The year I graduated I was part of a group of 5 people that could be found @ the Sculpture studios almost 24/7.Four of us applied to The Art Institute of Chicago (then ranked #1 overall for art schools) but none of us chose to go there.
From that group 2 people ended up attending Yale for Gradschool. 1 went to UCLA and I went to Calarts. Our fifth member is now living in Cologne , Germany…..where he studied media arts.

Freedom is wasted on meee

arj:

DOES ANYONE KNOW SOME KICKIN’ SONGS ABOUT FREEDOM?

Jackers and I are entering a contest where you have to make a three minute video about freedom. Our plan is to deck out our bikes in fourth of July gear and ride around the neighborhood with flags and facepaint to show our patriotism 4dah u s of a. The only song I can think of, and this could be a nice contrast to our visual intepration is Morrissey’s “I Change my Plea to Guilty”. Any input welcome.

Check the Soup Dragons video in the vicinity of my tumblr. If you follow that link to Youtube you’ll find lots of groovy songs from about the time I left High School. The Farm, Happy Mondays, etc. Not too sure much of that stuff aged well but fun times for sure.
